UAE Green Visa 2025: Eligibility, Requirements, Fees, and Application Guide

UAE Green Visa 2025

Skilled professionals in the UAE who earn a minimum monthly salary of AED 15,000 can now apply for the Green Visa, a five-year residency option that eliminates the need for family or employer sponsorship.

To qualify, applicants must hold a valid employment contract registered with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE), have at least a bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification, and meet the salary threshold.

The Green Visa is also available to freelancers, self-employed professionals, and investors. Freelancers need to obtain a MOHRE permit, present proof of a degree or diploma, and show earnings of at least AED 360,000 over the last two years or demonstrate financial stability. Investors and business partners must provide a trade license along with evidence of capital investment in a UAE-based business.

Application costs range between AED 2,000 and AED 2,500, covering the visa, Emirates ID, and medical checks. Required documents include a valid passport, employment contract or permit, income proof, and recent passport-sized photos.

Applications can be submitted through the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai or the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) in other emirates.

Officials highlight that the Green Visa is part of the UAE’s updated residency framework designed to attract global talent, offer more stability to expatriates, and support the country’s long-term innovation goals under Vision 2030.
