The feature to store chats from different apps in one place will be rolled out gradually. Meta will inform Europeans via in-app notifications when they will be able to merge chats across supported services. The company also said that the developers have “gone beyond” the basic features needed to implement messaging with third-party services. They are preparing to offer users more features, including features for sending reactions, direct replies to messages, indication while typing, read receipts, and more.

Next year, Meta will add the ability to create group chats with users of third-party services. Moreover, in 2027, the company intends to integrate support for audio and video calls from third-party applications. Further details are not yet disclosed, but it is obvious that Meta is making a lot of efforts to comply with new laws in the European Union.
